Mama na Mwana Foundation is a grassroots organization dedicated to supporting children with disabilities and their mothers. Recognizing the interconnected challenges faced by both, we have expanded our scope to provide holistic support that includes maternal empowerment, mental health services, economic resilience, inclusive education, training, advocacy, and gender-based violence prevention..

Originally focused on children with spina bifida and hydrocephalus, our work revealed a deeper crisis: mothers—often abandoned, impoverished, and stigmatized—were suffering in silence. Their well-being directly affects the care and development of their children. This realization led to a strategic shift in our constitution, name, and programming.
